I've always avoided speaking because it makes me uncomfortable. Dan attended Toastmasters for many years and has no problem speaking to groups.

Davis from here on in will be speaking to many people. He needs to get a comfort level with doing so.

Hey take it easy, there is a correct way to do that.

Just get her card and introduce yourself.
Then later ask her out to dinner.

That's the key. A big difference between "intervention" and "support". Just BE there, let him know you are proud (no matter what).
