I sure do like my Rotovac Ranger, but it is trying to kill me.
Yesterday I did a restorative cleaning for a customer's momma. Came out nearly like new. Neighbors came by to watch. Lots of compliments and darkly muttered comparisons to how Sears did their carpets.
Then I turned my back on it and the Ranger got me good. I was coiling hose while flushing out the reservoir chamber, which has an apo. Trouble was, I forgot to switch the apo on and the thing spilled out the vacuum inlet and dumped about five gallons on the kitchen floor.
I was unaware until I walked in and found my quilted pad sopping wet, the persian carpet runner soaked through and a quarter inch of water in the laundry room!
Momma was sitting in her living room so I shut off the water, stuck my head in and said cheerfully "I think I have time to do your kitchen runners and the floor, too."
And boy, did I! As it happens, I have a 4"wide hard surface wand and it will suck the butt off a brontosaurus. I sucked as much as I could out of the two rugs, set up her fan and suggested that her caregiver hang them outside today in the sunshine.
Cleaned up and beat feet.
Those rugs look wonderful and I learned all over how important it is to double check all settings.
You other porty hacks with apo machines, take heed!
