I am some what new. My first question on here is, what do you use for coffee stains ( in this case, an old one)? Thank you for your input

It depends on what kind of coffee. It depends on what kind of fiber.
Some decaffeinated and instant coffees have an artificial food dye added to make them look more robust.
It also depends on what was already tried on it.

If a synthetic carpet: If it is just the natural coffee dye some time an acid tannin remover will do it. Sometime peroxide boosted with Ammonia will, or one of the two parts (or one part) oxidizing products. And sometime a good reducer with time to dwell will do.
