I have one it sits in my truck. Seldom get it out maybe I should. Sounds like an electric drill. But it sure buzzes thru furniture either for agitation or a quick shampoo.

I want to buy an Orbot Micro for upholstery cleaning but I am concerned about the size and weight. I visited all my local suppliers and no one has it in stock

Does any one here owns one?

Love mine. Use it daily for upholstery. It works great. I run it with one hand and a spray bottle in the other.

I find that I can use either the Cyclo/HOS Mini Orbot & the Makita in one hand.

But I don't have a trigger sprayer in the other.

I pre-spray first, then use the tool to agitate, my other hand stretches the fabric to flatten out creases, ovelays, etc; to get a uniform clean.

The Cyclo type machine is very low on start up torque compared to the Makita, so low, that it's no problem.

However, I still hold both machine off of the fabric when starting, then lower to agitate.

It's also lighter & easier to handle, although I have no problems with either, ( & NO carpet tunnel syndrome either ).

Some may say they are heavy tools, BUT, you are resting them on the fabric & merely guiding them across the fabric, NOT holding them in the air trying to do the work.

Once one becomes used to using them, they are a joy to behold.

Is it possible to purchase one from the USA direct. ??

A couple of years ago, I was under the impression that the produced a variable speed model.

However, I've not seen it advertised since.

I had a disagreement with the Australian distributor so can't get an answer from him, let alone a decent price.

IF he would sell me one.

So, my question is, does Orbot manufacture the Micro in variable speed, &, if so, is it available in 220/240 volt?

I don't see a variable speed version on the older versions of their website

but

there is a variable speed version of the cyclo polisher so maybe. It looks to be discontinued.

Thanks Fred, I can see that it does have the speed adjuster, but the one that I saw had a more streamlined body in blue.
My guess is that it didn't work out & was discontinued.
At this point in time, I can't see the need for a new one now as I get ready to retire.
Looks like I won't make it to Ray (Rambo) Moody's age of retirement on the tools.
