We have a dry tower with our dusting area underneath it for the time being. A dynamic wash pit for soaking/washing. Most we hand wash with no soak time, urine/waterdamage/other problems/heavy heavy heavy soil, we soak. some we topical clean depending on issues like bleeding, shrinking, buckeling (afgans) or soil load compared to fiber content. We are currently extracting our full wash rugs with the large water claw.

How do you get a wet 9x12 rug off the ground on a dry rack?

How do you get a wet 9x12 rug off the ground on a dry rack?

I can lift a smaller rug, but the large ones get two blowers under and one on top of the rug. I was thinking about making a dome cover out of pvc and plastic to enclose the rug and put a dehu and small heater to speed up the drying time. In the summer 95 degrees and sunny rugs are dry in a couple hours but now it takes alot longer to get a rug completely dry.

with my two hands and a helper... we don't put them up soaking wet, they are damp.. but our drying rack is motorized.. 9x12 don't hurt too bad... the 12x18's become heavy.. we also have a cheater method as well involving our carpet forklift :mrgreen: We have carpet cradles and carts as well.

Chris... how do you clean rugs?

Right now most are HWE'd on both sides, I have the benefit of having a larger rug plant in my area to take on the difficult rugs, and I have a 2 pole dry rack, hand motorized. I have about a 20x30 area in my new shop that will be devoted to rug cleaning, so there I will set up a wash floor, and build/buy a better dry tower.
