do You file jointly John ?

i have had large deductions for equipment purchases last 2 years which has helped drop my AGI

Here too. Trucks are paid for in cash so we can write off mileage instead of interest or lease payments. Makes a huge difference adding mileage up, still beats gas and maintenance for us.

:headscratch: Why would you be getting a Stimulus check? I would think your income is too high. I thought you were a "Baller"

No check for me-- my income is too high.
Maybe next year I'll qualify--:eekk:

Yeah, I've noticed that on a lot of different industry chat boards.
Known high rollers or ballers admitting to getting a 1200 or 2400 check.
No check for me or the wifey either.

From what i understand, AGI under 198k for couple to qualify

And the higher AGI, the longer you wait, with finial checks not going out till late july + september

If that is true, kevid D, someone not being honest

The "Open Now" protests are funded/organized by wealthy people who want to force their workers back to work.

I don't care who funded or organized it .
I support it

Most citizens are not ready to return to normal.

I'm not sure of that, John
Haven't looked at any polls to see if they match my "finger in the wind-o-meter"

now if you asked, WHO THE HELL WOULD WANT TO go back to work if collecting more than their work wage ...that's a different color horse

You should be free to treat your body as you wish-- thats why im pro-abortion.

As with any Poll, it depends on the demographics of those polled. I think different polls put the "stay closed" votes at around 78%.

Since my wife isnt a citizen-- it seems she dont count.

I didnt have any large equipment purchases last year.

if I’ve fallen from “baller’ status in your eyes I can live with that

it Ain’t what you make, it’s what you keep

Max your SEP IRA to 25% to reduce your tax burden, if you are a lone wolf or have 1-2 employees to match contributions , it’s a huge benefit

Is the min 3% for that employee match? Looks like the next step for us granted it’ll probably have to wait till next year to provide that

I still haven’t gotten anything period. But it’s adjusted gross income. Up to 150k for couples. Over 150k, it’s $5 per 100 deducted over 150 to 198k. Also, the unemployment insurance rate is not in effect during this time.

You are still a "baller" to me

I preferred to fund my retirement at only 10%---I didn't want to lockup too much of my funds.
I had enough in my account before the collapse.

At this point, I only employ my son Matt... I match the 25 % contribution but he’s my kid 😃

my Understanding is you are required to fund all SEP participants equally

over 198 puts you into next tax bracket for any over.

I believe the match is required to qualify for "safe harbor". There are other options

Another thing that is f'd up IMO are these $1200 stimulus checks going to people that I feel do not need them.
I know of at least a dozen people who have not lost their job, still getting their government dole, not effected in any way from covid 19 but receiving checks.
I know they are to Stimulate the economy but people are spending them with businesses that are still open or operating.

How does this help stimulate the economy of the numerous businesses that are shut down?

I didn't get one my kids did and they are still getting a paycheck.
