@Mikey P feel free to use that video for any promo stuff you want as well. I’d love to see it go viral, like that Dirt Army tile vid a few years back.

I easily avoided all of these issues yesterday morning on an older, white, dog urine saturated, residential carpet by using plenty of peroxide and a microfiber under the Phoenix.

I knew from experience that there was a strong chance of this stuff reappearing if I tried to HWE it. Because it was bone dry in 30 minutes, I reduced that to zero chance.

Why do I still own a truckmount again?

Were you using a peroxide encap or a separate type of peroxide? How did you apply it and how long for the dwell time?

Good job! To which encap juice can you add peroxide without interfering with the encap process?

Awesome Encap and GoOxy. 3 OPG each. Laid it on slow and heavy with the Phoenix onboard sprayer.

How far down into the pile does the wand saturate loop end, Berber style? How far down does the suction extract?

Unless it's too high of a psi, only the top half is even getting wet. If it gets wet to the backing, most TMs aren't going to suck every bit up and that stuff, that only a rug spa cleaning would remove anyway, would fester.

Nobody around here is paying what it would cost for me to stand around for two hours water clawing and sodium percarbonating every spot the dog pees on.

I would rather clean and oxidize the part of the carpet we can effectively clean and leave the crazy stuff underneath alone. The dog has already pissed on it again, guaranteed.

My soul is as clean as that carpet... looks... LOL

You mention oxidizing urine. Keep in mind when the oxidizer turns back into water (about an hour after you left), the smell will come back with a vengeance if the pee is still there

Was just over there a few hours ago, the clients are people I have known for years. Still smells like baby powder Awesome Encap. They're definitely happy with the result and the carpet was bone dry before I left. I run air movers in each room at every job, I have had dry carpet in less than 10 minutes using VLM.

@anon James 4:17.... I know that not activating urine in the backing or padding is the right thing to do... for clients who don't want a full-on carpet restoration (which I can provide) but do want a basic cleaning at a price they can afford.

Mikey, I think if you can convince your friend to cut the pressure all the way down on the 360 he would be fine. Those things put down a boatload of water. I used one for awhile when I was injured and 250 psi was plenty.

And tell him to remove the sight glass and just quit cleaning when the carpet looks good.

They can’t handle the truth.

Most customers just want carpet that looks good and no longer smells like piss.

They almost never want to pay for the full subsurface process.

Keeping the pad dry is key for those customers.

Without doing the full rug wash pit thing, I think it’s best just to leave what lies beneath alone.

Went over this more times than I can count wet, and even more dry passes. Very stubborn, maybe somebody fumbled a big bong? Air mover key, even for 10 minutes.
No wicking, tip in payment.
