As for that balance thing by the way.....I'm thinking about dropping my evening account. I don't know how I can keep going with it and still be able to do everything else. But it is my bread and butter through the winter so I have to find something to replace it with during the days.
I don't want to do something stupid and dangerous out of desperation though. Ugh.....
Speaking of, I have to go clean one right now. :hopeless: Truly feeling overwhelmed right now. :eekk:

Depending upon the type of business, it may be possible to do day cleaning. This is becoming more common in many office buildings. A quiet vacuum cleaner, stay out of the way of customers, clean during daytime hours. Especially since they know and trust you, they might be receptive to this.

Hmmmm........I never considered that. It would have to be right before or at opening but that might work. I could bring in fans to speed dry the tile, which, thanks to amazing suction is damn near dry when I leave anyway and with the Zipper the carpet is almost completely dry as well.
I'm betting the clerks would be happy not having to wait around at night as well. We used to clean an hour before closing but it seemed like that was when they were busiest, so they asked us to come 15 minutes before closing instead. But mornings just might do the trick.
I really like that idea, and just put a call into the district manager.
@John Olson had a good idea as well, so if they won't let me clean in the mornings, maybe I can find someone to sub it out to, although I am not sure about who I would trust to take care of them. They are very picky about who they let in the backs.

Kellie a sub works for you. They are your "employee" I would even have them wear one of your uniforms and ask if they have a plain white van no lettering they can use. Lots of guys don't have lettering because they do a lot of sub work. Not sure about your area but if they do sub work they wont be surprised by asking/telling them they are representing your company.

Yeah, I know, and I would 1099 them right? And they carry their own insurance as well. It's definitely not a bad idea, but first I am going to talk to the district manager about having the option of doing them in the mornings instead. It would not mess my day up at all to do it that way.
If that doesn't work out I will definitely look into finding a sub.
Thank you John...:)

Be careful with that...the whole 1099-ing guys that work for you could cause trouble.

A big company around here is going through that right now where they were/are 1099-ing a lot their employees. A bunch of outside contractors and vendors are getting all kinds of investigating calls about their relationship with said company.

@scottw ..........I just got the call back. The stores open at 10 am but they get there at 8!
She likes the idea of me doing them in the morning better!!!
I am so happy, I'm crying right now!
This is good for 2 reasons....not only will it free up my nights to take care of George and our home, but I won't need a helper! If I'm there at 8:00 and get the fronts done and drying, I'm doing the backs and finished by opening!!!
I'm kicking myself in the ass right now for never thinking to ask in all the years we've been cleaning them. We always assumed they did not get there till 9:30 am.
Thank you so much for your input!!!!

Well....that good news went down the drain. The district manager was all for me cleaning in the mornings and said it was a go, but corporate called me this afternoon and said it would not work out. No explanation, no nothing. She said we need to keep it at the same hours.
So, I am back to square one. I cannot afford to lose this account, nor can I afford to sub it out and only get a small percentage.
I guess the hamster wheel will just keep spinning for now, until I can find a way to replace this account with another consistent one with better hours.
