Patch over seam

Hi chaps,
I have a patch to do on a sisal style wool carpet. There is a huge black dye stain that the last guy has tried to removed and fuzzed the heck out of it. The patch will need to be about a foot by a foot and a half. The donor is no problem - we have a mat to sacrifice. Problem is that a seam runs smack down the middle.
Should I just cut the patch and create an extension of the seam to pass through the patch??

Thanks
Heath

I don't usually do that unless I need to break up the appearance of the patch.

if your donor is close enough that it may just disappear except the seam doesn't SHOW, then do it, otherwise, I'd forget about it.

I always stay nail when opening up a seam repair like that, especially on sisal look stuff.
