What the heck happened there? It doesn't look sun damaged enough to cause that and I've cleaned a boatload of that particular style and fiber with no issues . I had that happen once but not that extreme. It was sun damaged 18 year old olefin.

It's in front of a sliding door, the fiber bundle isn't held by glue any longer.

Just a guess but I would say water has come beneath the seal enough to damage the latex. Vacuum exposed the dry rotted area. ???

Dog scratching at it. I was just being an “idiot” and taking an “idiot” picture. Those pennants are clean though.

How do y’all get those pics with your wand and phone? Some of you are like the guy I played golf this week (a joiner) who showed us how he could putt with his putter between his legs backwards😏

I carry one in my wallet. It's the same size as a credit card (when closed) surprisingly useful little thing.

Just bought 4 more of these, to give away as gifts.
