We bought lunch today. The crews were cleaning 35,000 sq/ft downtown, just 10 minutes away so we had them break and come back to the shop for lunch.

7 tech's operating 6 Cimex's cleaned it in 6.5 hours. They said it cleaned up great. I didn't get to go, so no pictures.

My crew spent the day on a 20 year old never been cleaned or brush rolled 100 step stairwell in The City

Picked up a very fortuitous new FPA client in Golden Gate Park while in town.

3600 buys a lot of Little Cheeser

They tore it up and went back and knocked it out. They finished up early for the day and left.
Although not many of them knew the banks were closed. You should have seen the look on their faces. It was as if I paid them in counterfeit money.

Priceless.

so I'm guessing you encapped it and the crew did about 770 sq ft per man hour? I just thought encap had higher production levels then that?-- At least that's what encapman would have us believe.:stir:
still a great job.

There were 6 Cimex machines running. So it actually works out to 897 sq ft per hour of machine run time. If you factor in a half hour of set up time, and another half hour of break down time - their average slides up to 1060 sq ft per hour. Not top Cimex numbers, but approaching acceptable.

And if their stomachs weren't packed with wads of Domino's pizza they might have done better. That's a recipe for a siesta.

Spend a little more money on your techs and get them something nutritious next time for lunch. Catch their order and go to a sub shop or barbecue joint. They'll thank you in performance and not rushing to the bathroom the whole day

It was mostly office cubes with halls and funnel areas mixed in. Not a lot of open space where you get great production numbers. It was estimated at .14 a square. It worked out fine for what it was.

Most of those are young guys, they eat far worse on their own dime. They party too much to worry about "Eating Fresh". :winky:

We did have Pannera cater in breakfast and lunch eailer in the week during Steramist training. They panned the great soup and salads every day and ate the sandwiches and cookies. I had tea, lemonade, orange juice jugs leftover everyday. They drank the soda I put in coolers instead.

I gave away all the quarts to the office staff. lol

Tell them they'll have more energy to enjoy their job and more energy to party after work if they eat healthier, lol

And how to you manage a bunch of young college kids? I'm going to hire a retired guy in a few weeks part time, and it's going to be a relief to me, because I've had a part time 19 year old college kid helping and it's been hard, because I've had to work around her schedule due to classes and other stupid stuff.

He had 7 employees-- that's why I got my numbers in Man hours.. that one person contributed to the production so 7 is correct.

We like to do sushi night at Excellent Supply. Every few months we'll all get together, after work on a Friday night, workers and their mates. We order a bunch of sushi, and open a couple of bottles of wine. Just had a sushi night last week. Lots of fun!!!

no 3000 for the steps, 600 for the FPA on the last minute job.

20 plus years, never cleaned, 6 feet wide, never vacuumed with a brush roll

each step was it's own project.
