That (real)idiot called PMF once and yelled at them over the width of the vac slot on their Mach15 wand.

He said it was his invention to go wide when designing a wand to use a glide.

How many here actually use that feature?
I know it maintains more and quicker heat and can second as a dust downer, if you do dry vacuuming. Or with certain machines letting out hot water (not letting the heat build up) when not using much water.

However I never found it really necessary.

They come with many TEXAS truckmounts.
I have a stair wand with a hole drilled In the side and a tube for the bypass. But I like this PMF design better.

Oh hell why do I care anyway. My other van just sits in my backyard. But I can dream.

I like it. It can give you scalding hot water or closed off and just get average temps. I know it wastes water but sometimes you need that heat that you can't get by triggering off and on.

Here are a couple of bypass units that are probably close to 40 years old. They were on Steamatic upholstery/stair tools that came with their machines of that erase.
