Will it require any maintenance beside simple cleaning?
Seems like it would save money on maintenance costs.

Know a little as well
when the interior designers insisted we polish the concrete in my office instead of tiling over according to original plan. The concrete guys had quite a bit to say, they would have finished the slab differently if they knew.
The polisher got it looking "ok" but had to fill several soft spots, then it was polyurathaned and was suggested it would last around 5-7 yrs before needing done again, I left within 12 months so dont know how it stood test of time

Yes, you will want to buff it from time to time. I have it in several churches and maintain like vct, except no recoat. Should it start to look worse than I want it, I use Twister pad on them.
Acid stain we maintain just like vct including recoat.
