I’ve been reading articles about polyester clothing screwing with our bodies in a bad way

As for carpet and everything else, who else here has read those statistics

in my early days in the Vegan Nazi Army, we were stickily prohibited from wearing Poly of any sort.

This article probably sums it up best as “inconclusive”

My own view is that polyester could be our “next asbestos” one day. The issues of micro plastics in our environment are disturbing as well.

All I really know is that it is uncomfortable to wear, and that it’s poor performance as a carpet, rug, and upholstery textile keeps me from recommending it.

To be fair though, polyester is probably ok if you don’t wear it, step on it, sit on it, or drink liquids that are contained by it or it’s by-products.

Yeah, I’ve come across some of that stuff too—it’s wild how much synthetic materials can impact our health. Haven’t looked into it much with carpets specifically, though. Do you think it’s something we should be worried about, or is it just another overhyped topic? Curious to hear what others think or if anyone’s got solid stats on this.

if there was a race to kill us off, how do you think those micro esters would compete with:

  • COVID-19
  • Stroke
  • Chronic lower respiratory diseases
  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic liver disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Suicide
  • Alcohol and drug abuse
  • Medication abuse and misuse
  • Cancers of all types
  • Vehicle accidents
  • Too much time spent in a polyester Lazy Boy.

On your mark, get set, GO!

Medical errors are the 3rd leading cause of death behind heart disease and cancer.
My bet is it's the top one because the other two are like covid. You die from the treatment not the disease.
