No repetition in pattern but way too shiny for limestone...

It's porcelain.

perfectly trimmed square cut edges, perfect finish with no imperfections. A polished stone floor with grout that dirty would have some sort of evidence on the surface of the tile.

If this is impressive to you, you should see what is out there currently. Engineered stone that looks identical to marble, porcelain that you can't tell whether or not is stone, etc. It's a pain in the ass.

Take a knife and jab this tile, it will leave a slight grey mark and ruin the tip of the blade

That ceramic tile has been around for at least 15 years. You will see it car dealerships and shopping malls.
The stuff is close to bullet proof. Oil, transmission fluid, battery acid or coolant won't damage it in the least.

could spell the end of natural stone installs in near future...

Never. They can still scratch. The designs are printed on, not through body, so grinding and refinishing ruins the tile. Not to mention by the time you need replacement tiles, they don't manufacture that pattern any more. People that know how to grind and refinish through body porcelain are very few and far between.

Stone is more expensive, but MUCH more serviceable than manufactured surfaces.

Popular Porcelain here. Whatever they are using for grout cleans super easy.. Never cleaned anything that was so easy.

Maybe that's what was used. It seems to be only on the really large porcelain tiles. What ever it is it's awesome stuff.

Congratulations Mike. The two of you each found a remarkable person with whom to spend a lifetime, even at a young age.

How many people can really say the same?

The man in me respects all you two have done together

The friend in me applauds and celebrates it.
