I'm not a fan of continuous flow tools. Every truck mount guy needs a porty for the odd job you can't reach. Just makes sense to use a heated portable for upholstery. You use the customers electricity and water, no machine running outside making noise and burning gas, better control over your solutions. What's not to like?
The smell of piss recirculating in the air.

Getting it out of the truck, unless you’re pulling a trailer👎🏻

Is there a filter on the QD attached to the upholstery tool?

I saw that your 318 doesn't have an exhaust diverter like the other hydra master models. I agree with you on it dumping the water. If you have the PMF internal jet tool, that little spray jet inside has been stopped up one time in all the years I've had mine, and it's a pain to clean out, so I hope the clog is in the filter for your sake. If I were you, I'd check out that upholstery tool before I bought a portable machine, but you know portables better than I do.
I do have other upholstery tools, I have the internal jet one, i have an external jet one and also the rotovac shear dry, i'm gonna hook them up and run those and see what happens. I may just have a problem with the trigger valve on the internal jet one

The Sandia 6-Gallon unit would be perfect for what you're describing. Heated, 100 PSI, Single 3-Stage Motor, 1 Cord. Sandia extractors are rock solid dependable. And they're easy to open up and work on if you ever need to service anything.

Let me know if you're interested. I'll be happy to order one in for you at a very good price.

I don't think i've ever had to clean any upholstery where the owners pet pissed all over it, so not even worried about that.
Now the carpets, that's another story, i get that all the time but i use my TM for carpets
Unfortunately I see some disgusting furniture from time to time.
Like Mike I've had to flip them upside down to treat underneath with a hydroforce.

Well i'm gonna just consider myself lucky then that I don't run into nasty piss soaked/stained furniture in my area.

But like i mentioned before, carpet is another story. I find cat piss way more nasty then dog piss though.

I've had to flat out turn down some jobs it was so bad.

One time i went to this elderly ladies house who was in a wheelchair and she was on oxygen and the tubes in her nose so i guess she couldn't smell how bad the cat piss odor was

She opened the door as i was walking up the walkway and bam!! That cat piss smell hit me like a ton of bricks from outside like 30 feet from the front door, cat piss staines all over the carpet.

I ever so politely had to turn her down, couldn't wait to get out of there i was choking

You know I do have to say that the other reason i'd like to have another portable that I would keep in my house and only load on the truck when needed.

Is that a lot of times i wanna do a quick clean up in my house, maybe just one room or my couch or something, it would be nice to have the portable handy and not have to go out and pull the van out of the garage and set it up. Plus I do have an old dog that sometimes have's accidents in the house. And i do allow my dog on the furniture, she sleeps on the couch a lot so a quick freshen up on my couch is needed at times.

Like I mentioned? I use portables for probably half my work. Simple and easy to use. I'm 62 and have no problem lifting it in or out of the van. I can bring everything I need into an apartment building in one trip. I am usually only doing small jobs with it. 1-2 bedroom apartments or upholstery. I am every bit as fast with a portable as I am with a truck mount. After 40 years you find ways to make life simple.

I bought a US Products Ultimate a few years ago just for such situations. Have never used it yet because the truckmount always works.

I have modified plumbing to maintain heat without wasting water.

You know I don't remember having any problems running the TM for upholstery using my internal jet tool back when I first got it, it's just the last few jobs i was having issues with it, it would stop spraying, then it would start spraying again then stop again and so on, guess I just assumed it was the TM dumping water causing me to lose pressure. I did hook it and my other external jet tool up today to see if I had the same problem with my external jet tool and i had no issues at all with the external jet tool, but did when using the internal jet tool.

I'm gonna say its the tool at fault here. I'll find out soon enough as I ordered the repair kit for it today, seems to be an easy fix as i pulled the spray trigger off the wand today

However I think I will still get a small 6 or 10 gallon heated portable to keep in my house for personal use for quick clean ups without having to fire up the TM just to clean my one couch or pet accidents. And maybe for those times when i get a call to clean just one sofa or just a couple of chairs, especially if its raining out. Personally, although I do it, I don't like working its raining.

So when some just wants on sofa cleaned and its raining out it'll be porty time

I've used a friends u.s. products cobra 100 psi? a few times on upholstery, nice wee unit which if anything got too hot on upholstery.. would hate to clean carpet with it

Like my mytee vortex more than I thought I would, and use it 2-3 times a month on apartments. Too big just for upholstery imo

EDIC Would be my choice. We had a couple of their spotting machines and they were made well.

Mytee Had good molds on the equipment we bought from them but were later disappointed in the construction.

Sandia No experience with
