Have a Prochem Legend GT. Is it ok to run the machine needing a new coil? It continues to rev low to high about 20 min into a job.I lose minimal suction and pressure stays the same. The mechanic is saying it’s a coil issue. Others say it’s an air filter. Help me if anyone Can tell me what’s going on.

I would pull out the air filter, test it. if it still does it, then you can focus on the Coil. you need to get it fixed. you will cause carbon issues on your plugs if you don't.

I'm thinking it's the coil or a rectifier.

Why not replace the coil and see if that's it?
They can go in and out while running and get worse as they get hotter.

If it goes out completely in the middle of job what would you do?

The mechanic has ordered the coil. Where is the air filter?
