I have an old Prochem Legend. Heat exchanger is leaking. I am seeking advice on repairs as well as coil replacement. If anyone knows repair methods or a place that sells a new coil I would appreciate the information. Thank You

Is it the exhaust radiator?

Thank you for the response. No it is the high pressure SS heat exchanger. Prochem discontinued making them. It's expensive for an aftermarket one $1500.00. Not out of the question, but if I could get another year or two out of it with a few welds, I would rather.

My old Legend had a leak on that SS heat exchanger. It was in the rear of it, and I couldn't see where it was coming from until I pulled it out and tested it. It was just the sensor on the back of it that was only visible up close. So that might be what yours is.

Thanks Matt. I will look closer. Is the coil easily removed?

used penetrating oil when hot over and over and broke all the bolts. Thanks for the heads up Matt. Will remove it in the next couple of weeks.

You have more patience than I do. I got pissed and started hacksawing away. I figured my welder could weld it back quicker than I could get the bolts off, lol

Did your welder get it back together? It's very difficult to weld something that has been heat cycled over and over again.
