Dry times depend on the carrier and how heavy you apply the product. OMS dries slowly, often slower than water. I really don't see the point of using an OMS based product if you're upset about the dry time of a water based product as it just costs you more.
Alcohol dries faster but is easily ignited if you spray it near a pilot light or anything that arcs. Chlorinated solvents dry the fastest and aren't flammable like OMS and alcohol, but they're expensive.
Adding dry time is typically a small issue, no matter what carrier is used, unless you're cleaning and protecting a lot of plant fiber carpet.
