If there is caked on crap on the bottom half of the carpet fiber and you had to go with the slow flush, it would have been wise to use that chemistry to break up the gunk in the first place.

i did
I just didn't feel the need to state the OBVIOUS

What you really needed was a machine that can do a deep scrub on those fibers and break loose the gunk with some agitation along with the chemistry and you wouldn't have had to flood the place.

wrong.
The only way you could of hoped to get it with a towel was the "hand massage" every individual fiber .
So maybe you "could" of got it just as clean.
Though my point remains
(unless you're suggesting massaging each individual cut pile fiber bundle )

so...it one, two or three??
a combo of all I suspect

a guy with a good TM would say the same about a pad cleaner who would encap blood

So you saying the guy couldn't do as good of a job as a pad cleaner could?

Brian does have one advantage over all the HWE guys here. More time to spend on this board explaining how five cotton pads can pull out as much soil as fifty gallons of boiling hot rinse solution flushing a dirty carpet using a high powered steam machine. That comes from his ChemDry background.

Brian,

Do you think padcapping could do a respectable job of removing a stain like this from someone's living room?

If so, i would be very impressed and will start offering padcapping myself.

If not, how would you clean mess like this?

thanks,

It is Old School baby!

Easiest upsell in the world.

10 bucks per room use to buy you a porty extraction.

An extra 10 would buy ya a shampoo scrub too.

I respectfully disagree, Juan .
Not that it's not possible he IS ripping off peeps, just that we don't "know" that by the pic

where I respectfully disagree is if you're suggesting he "can't" do a great job with all that gear pictured .
Cause the truth is, if he does vac well, roto scrub and rinse extract (even with that rUg dOcteR) he'd be doing a better job than the average JoeBob with a TM...
and certainly better than BRIAN's "spray 'n wipe" cleaning ..on his BEST day...

Yup...

Back when gas was about 89 cents per gallon.

One good job would buy ya a months worth of gas.

How many people you think are still charging them old school prices?

Now they have to do two good jobs just to buy one tank of gas.

brian i call bullshit on your coment that you can out clean most out here..
i can put a monkey in a hi flow hi heat cds with nothing but my powermax
and can guarantee that there is not a portable in the world that could out clean it
speed, dry times, and professionalism..who the hell wants someone using their bath tub
or toilet when getting their carpet cleaned..not saying you dont do a good job but come on
man..saying that is just ridicules..

Great process does not a good cleaner make

I've seen plenty of carpets that were cleaned with a TM that were completely screwed because the guy didn't know what he was doing.

That's like saying if you give a fast car to a monkey he will win the race.

Just not true.

ok so i dont understand your comment then? you said you could out clean most of us here with a porty. i said bullshit that
a great prespray alone will out clean a porty all day long..
you are like a person that smokes and tells everyone around them that you feel great and have no reason to quit..
you say you have no reason to get a tm and would rather use a porty..only reason anyone would use a porty over a tm is
if they cant afford a tm or the tm is just not usable in the application.
and yes if you put a monkey in a 500hp z06 vette he will win a race against a honda civic....every time!!

absorb the dirt instead of just scrubbing it.

really?

still leaving tons of residue in the carpet

it is what it is

a method that is for interim cleaning of commerical carpets

has no other value than appearance attention

Double ditto- padcapping residential is kind of gross and we were paddcapping before most on this board were born (maybe not Bob).

Ditto...but I would explain it as...

While most on this board were still swimming in their daddy's balls!

Who is that guy, anyway? I'm looking for good help.

Geez Harp - that takes me back to my first job. $29.95 LDH and a 5% fuel surcharge. 5 jobs a day, $80 minimum expected. 20% plus fuel to the lead hand, 10% to the helper. We had a 12 inch American Lincoln scrubber, a 5 gallon single 2 stage with a 50 PSI pump. You got a gallon of shampoo, a gallon of defoamer, a gallon of deo and a sprayer full of 45 to 1 soil retardent. I lasted 6 months and bought me a used scrubber and a nice shiny new- are you ready for it? -

100 PSI 10 gallon 3 stage vac monster. With a Castex 4 jet wand

There was only 3 or 4 companies running TM's back then so it was easy pickins.

I can't argue with ignorance....Not all of you....but you know who you are.

Here

Lady emailed me today and said it still looks great...we are going back for the tile cleaning

I went to another urine job today...a bad one...the place still looked great. She needed repair in her closet.

I don't know what else I can say.

The carpets get clean, the customer is happy, I get paid...carpet stays clean...no wicking, no resoiling from residue.

I don't get you people. :|

I'm renting a place and it had a carpet covered in stains and I tried cleaning it with liquid soap and water, but the soap was leaving marks so I ending up using more water than I meant to, so I think the water soaked through the carpet to the flooring below. So then when I tried to soak up the water it was all yellow in colour - is this yellow dirt filtered from under the carpet? Is this dirt or just dye, because the carpet looks cleaner, but all this yellow water is disgusting...

Where do you wash your pads Brian?

(I noticed you skipped by this last time.)

My apologies....I must have missed it.

I wash them at the laundry mat.

And before you say anything....No I can't put a carpet in a washing machine. lol
So it doesn't compare.

I was reading your profile and realized you use a Vortex

No wonder you're so butt hurt over this.

I'll try to take it easy on you because I'm sure you can't be convinced of anything now.

Have you talked with Mikey lately? Or Jim? Or Marty? Or anyone else who owned one of those POSs?
