Hey I have a Vortex 777 and the last few days on first job the pressure is not coming up. I have to key the wand and wait for it to build pressure.

Cat 5CP 3120 AAT

This happens if tank is emptied or I clean the intake filter and lose prime.

Why would it suddenly start doing this it hasn't been a problem before?

All hoses are tight and not leaks are visible.

Thanks

Brad:

How is the pressure when it is primed?

If it comes up to full pressure and maintains it while running, it's probably a worn seal in the pump.

If it doesn't come up and it pulsates when running, it's probably a stuck or damaged check valve.

Duane what's up?

The pressure is fine once it is running. No jumping.

How hard is it to change the seals?

S-I-M-P-L-E...

You'll need to take the head (discharge manifold) off to do it. But once it's off the rest is obvious...

... and I may have some in stock. I'll have to check tomorrow when I go to the shop.

If you only knew the real story there. 8)

At any rate, there isn't a system made that I can't figure out.

That's how I can design and build such a varied offering of different systems.

They all do 3 things: squirt, suck and heat water.

The only difference is how they do it.

Brad,
I may be way off base here. I had a similar situation back in Feburary and I was cleaning and lost all pressure. I thought the hose had frozen, so I brought in the spare and it worked a few minutes and stopped. So then I brought in my other spare hooked to auxillary and it had some pressure but not alot. I managed to finish the job. When I got back to shop I took the wands apart and found the filters to be clogged with grit and sand and rust etc etc. Also, the stainer from the tank had some blue line in it where I had done a repair to a hose end. I think what had happened is when I bought the truck they probably were not using softened water, and when I started using it I think it just started cleaning out the lines, values, etc, and clogged everything up.

Like I said I may be way off base but, thought I would mention this.

Billy
