Question about my Butler system

I have 1994 Butler system. There is a ball valve to mix the hot and cold water. Can I leave this valve closed so it is only hot water running through the system or should I leave it cracked a bit to let some cold water in as well. If I leave it open I do not maintain heat. when it was closed it stayed hot.

The only time I open the valve is when I am cooling down the solution hose before I reel it in. I run water through the vac hose to rinse it out at the same time.

So it is safe for the machine to leave that valve closed.

John close the valve to hot, take off the handle, and throw it away.
Its a Butler, it only gets 195.
I only turn the heat down to wash my hands.
