I told them to pull up the carpet but they wanted me to try. So I focused on getting the odor out mostly. I’m more curious about the pink spots. This was under a polypropylene rug. Any thoughts?

well, supposedly those fibers are always solution dyed. Should not run. But nowadays you never know. maybe manufactured wanted the colors to pop more, ? did some kind of over dye, and it is crocking?

maybe do a test , as on upholstery, with a white towel to see if you get any transfer?

Not really related, but I have purchased microfiber towels in the past (not white) , that bled like crazy.

Perhaps the pet was on meds at one time and the rug was placed there to hide the stains. If the area rug in the second picture is the same rug that was covering those stains, there doesn't appear to be any similar stains on it.

Recently, I was cleaning at a house that has white carpet in the living room. In the middle of the room was an area rug to hide the huge tumeric stain underneath.

There were pink spots in other rooms which told me it was color loss, but this area still has me confused because these colors don’t match that rug and I don’t think it’s color loss

That is dye bleed from the area rug. I would charge $400 to correct it with Magic Powder

Winner! The poly rug was purchased to hide dye bleed from the previous wool rug.

I know a little about synthetic W2W
but don't know chit about rugs,
does the back side of those rosettes look like the red has migrated ?

I can't tell.
I haven't been able to see the blackboard since 5th grade
(the rare times I even paid attention in skool)

I told them it'd be cheaper to just buy a new poly rug than cleaning it with as much urine is on it

I'm cornfuzed :headscratch:
I thought this was more about correcting the red stains on the white carpet?

not the stank in the poly rug.

and not being one to GAS if peeps know I'm stOOpit..

is the dog still in the home?
If so...I wouldn't buy a new doggie pee pad

I'd of suggested they take it out in the drive, pour a 5gal bucket of hot water with 2 cups of Tide mixed

and rinse with a garden hose or pressure washer
(if they know how to not be an idiot w/pressure washer)

I am more curious about the red stains on the carpet. I’m just concerned about the source.

Since there’s bigger pink stains on the other side of the house that’s color loss, I was wondering if this was the same thing or if it was bleeding.
