Seems a little high for a jaipur tea wash rug some makers where commanding a premium price.... rugs by Robinson & Samad for example so, yeah it's possible.

She probably purchased it at a specialty rug shop.. but I’d be more interested when she purchased the rug. When this Jaipur style first hit the market in 1998 or so there was 1 maybe 2 companies making this look and the price was high in the 45.00 Sq.Ft wholesale ranges within a couple years everyone was making it and the market burned out today 4,500 retail would be a rip off there are people selling this stuff for 10-15.00 Sq Ft. retail!

The big fallacy in the rug business is that most rugs are investments, the reality rugs are like new cars they are utility items that depreciates in value once they leave the lot.
