Ran hard and put away wet!! Prochem Apex winter project..

This has been my workhorse for years.. It is a 2006 Apex with 4,900 hours. No major components needed, though it needs a new rear main seal.. I figure I should just rip it apart and replace whatever is needed. I am trying to keep it under $2,000..

Look at that powder coat!! That's 11 years of abuse!

Its a complete overhaul. Not because its needed but because Keith is a perfectionist.

I had a friend of mine come over to help take the mounting bolts out.. I just told him "this was going to be an easy in and out" then I said "well as long as it's out" lol! I will go over everything..

Knew it.

It does make sense. I have one out right now. Rebuilt the pump, changed all belts and inspected all hoses. This is the best time to go over with a fine tooth comb.

I didn't do the work. LOL My distributor did.

Its a Performer with only 2500 hours. Swapping it with one I traded in with 5,000 hours. The Everest will take its place.

If you want the best corrosion protection I would suggest a high quality epoxy primer followed by a 2-part urethane topcoat - after going down to bare metal. A lot of work but will last for years - and is repairable if you damage the finish, unlike powdercoating.

Weird it's the same frame as the Peak..

The Peak seems so much smaller!

I'm not going to sell it.. I am going to have a stainless waste tank made and buy a new van at some point this year(well that's the plan). Both of my vans are over ten years old so it's time!

Amazing work. The thought of tearing into my relatively simple Cleanco terrifies me. I'd pay good money to have her brought back to her former glory the way you do, with these older truck mounts. It's really cool!
