The clutch specs on a cat 290 says 7 inches. The one I ordered is 5 inches. Now I have too much slack to get it tight. I held up a 7 inch pulley I had lying around and it seamed too tight. Wrong shaft size or I would have used it. Does anyone know the proper pulley size to replace a clutch?

The coupler between the blower and motor looks like a big piece of rubber screwed in on each side. Im afraid if I mess with it to go with a shorter belt it may be out of balance when I put it back together.

If you have the Dodge coupler (PX-70) that looks like a little tire with 5 bolts on each side holding it, it is very simple to remove and reinstall for a belt change and won't go out of balance.
If you think it is beyond your mechanical expertise to remove the coupler pick up a link belt and put that on.
You don't have to take out the coupler to put on a link belt.
