A client has a normal berber carpet custom cut and bound to fit a boat, roughly 8x10. The latex is breaking down and they are wondering if there is a way to recoat it to repair it.

Anyone know of tried any options?

Yep we've used Roberts latex seam sealer many times.

Works great, adds stabilty and strength to the worn area. It may need two applications, the only possible draw back is it visually looks like glue.

Good idea to prepare them ahead of time what it will look like.

I use parabond m 267 to use a paint roller. About $50.00 a gallon sometimes you could go through it to.

we have also added scrim at times to give the latex more to adhere to &/or strengthen a weaker area
