IICRC standards are important for a number of reasons, including:
- Safety
IICRC standards set high safety standards for the cleaning and restoration industry, which helps build customer confidence. This is especially important for hazardous jobs that require special equipment and procedures.
- Industry language
IICRC standards help create a common language and terminology for the industry, which makes it easier to discuss concepts and procedures.
- Best practices
IICRC training teaches technicians the latest techniques and methodologies, which helps them adhere to ethical and effective approaches.
- Competitive edge
Companies that participate in the standards-development process can gain a competitive edge over those that don't.
- Industry credibility
IICRC certification shows that someone has been trained and can perform cleaning tasks properly. Customers may be more trusting of someone who is certified.
