I’m not sure if anyone caught this presentation at the IICRC convention this past year. According to the presenter there are upwards of 3 companies that are manufacturing relatively “large and effective” Roomba-esk carpet cleaning machines. From what I was told. They are used in
The same facility repeatedly. A “blueprint” could be uploaded and the machine follows a pattern/route throughout the facility. I found it hard to believe that machines could ever replace the personal touch of a human but it’s crazy to think that robbotics could be used effectively in the future to maintain different flooring surfaces. What’s your thoughts?

Inevitable for large commercial floor... maintenance. I see people at the Airport driving around on floor cleaning machines...all they really do is steer it so that person would be eliminated eventually.
Not useful for residential cleaning.
