The Zipper is certainly on my radar as well.

Do you pre scrub at all or does the Zipper allow you to skip the pre scrub?

Does the Zipper get close enough to the edge or do you have to use a different tool for edging?

The zipper replaced the wand but some carpets need the crb just like with the wand. You don't need another tool for edging the zipper works just like the wand. If the edges are full of crap like in some homes i have a crevice tool for a shop vac. At idle the truckmount makes quick work of edges. An Unglided wand will get closer but who uses those. You need a rotary for real nasties in my opinion but that's all. Most just don't need it. Today we cleaned the worst house I have so we rotovac in through the traffic pattern and then switch to the zipper to clean the rest of the carpet. No way a crb zipper combo would have cleaned the path as well. It's an extreme case but its like a mechanic without all his tools. You can't do the job properly.
