someone here a while ago posted that bonnet or rotary cleaning in many residential settings will void the warranty. Is this true? Could someone post a link to the carpet mill site that says this info? thanks.

I don't think that you can void the warranty just by using a rotary. When I called them they said that if you DO damage the carpet by using a rotary then the won't cover the carpet with the warranty . Something like that.

I called Shaw and Mohawk one of them said that you can't even use a rake or ANY scrubbing at all. You basically have to use a CRB and HWE only or you could cuase damage. I think and the Machine has to have the SOA from CRI.

You have to use one of the machines on thise list too.Or you will void the warranty, lol

When I began cleaning in 1956, a rotary shampooer was the ONLY way to clean a carpet.

And it had been around for a very long time before I began.

But just like most anything, someone who does not know what they are doing CAN cause damage to any carpet- or anything else for that matter.

I am sure that is the reason the carpet mill says something like- "If you cause damage they will not cover the damage."

Not because a roto will actually damage a carpet.

Knowing what you are doing and how to do it is the key.
