Rug pad recommendation

Other than what can be bought at big box stores, what would you rug fans recommend this particular rug?


Exposed back, no backing, 12 x 15. What about a thin piece 1/8", 1/4" of carpet pad? Going on tile floor.

Avoid the 'big box' rug pad. It's made to look like other pad but can cause some problems. The mesh pads in particular are coated with an adhesive rather than being made with a grippy material.

If the customer wants thin, I'd recommend a WunderGrip expanded vinyl pad. Unlike the perforated rubber pads, it won't break down to goo and dust in a year or two.

If they want a little bit of cushion, I'd also recommend a Durahold pad (made by NoMuv) since it has a grippy top surface, rubber back, is thin and has a ten-year warranty.

Pad made for wall-to-wall carpet will fail quickly when used under an area rug.
