Well, it was a great experience. I want to thank all who were involved, including the people from ARCS, and all those who organized the week. All the information gained was invaluable.
I especially want to thank Robert Mann and his crew for opening up their shop for us to come learn. Top notch people and facility.
I’ll see all of you on the next one....

Looks like a great week

I'm curious about the HP I use 6% 12% and 20% regularly, are they using the 35% pre clean or post clean on stains?

We use peroxide on clean rugs. Too much chance for things to go wrong applying it to dirty ones. Concentrations range from 4% - 35% as overall applications of very fine mists, or hand brushed in very precise doses into specific stains . Most rugs get put in the sun, or under mid range UV lights. 4% is 'self neutralizing; stronger applications get rinsed. Realize it all goes against popularly accepted practice, but have been doing it for many years and with excellent results. The hard part is guessing what will be just enough, and not doing more than it needed.

Always find a nugget at these events that make them worth attending, but I'll admit this one was pretty special. A very well thought out shop, lots of information shared, and Robert is a great instructor with a seemingly infinite amount of patience. I came home with pages of notes and a list of tools to buy, and a little project building a copy of that rug jack.

I'm sure glad I'm not hosting the next one.

Someone once said, 'the best investment in a rug plant is a well trained, passionate cleaning technician that really cares about his craft and will carefully process rugs entrusted to him.'

I would add, that person should care and get along with the people he works around and contribute to make the work environment a haven from a troubled world. It is essential they have respect for ownership.
