Don't buy your machine around your wand.

If I had to use a porty, I'd buy a power-brush from EDIC or the like. Sometimes these can be picked up in good condition for under $200.

The additional agitation provided by its brush will make up for some of your machine's short-comings without requiring much add'l amperage.

i use a Porty all the time and i use a power head with it. the Porty is 10psi with 2 3 stage vacs and my wand is a single jet 100060 jet. it works good just have to go slower with the wand. powrflite has an awesome power head for portables. i do alot of work with my portable. if you want info pm me. i rigged my portable so the power head plugs into the front of my portable. my portable has 2 cords.
