Awe Bob, you've gotta give them a break. They wouldn't just slap on a pretty dash board and not improve their product. Who do you think they are...Amtex?

Nah, I bet they've made some major improvements in their lineup. Evidence from their rough start with Blue line shows that they've done nothing but improve

Can you imagine the workers comp rate on roof work, and the problems you create walking around on a rubber roof, no thanks:(

I think some of you are not getting it: there are two different units being talked about here.

Face-lift 370 and an all new hydraulic sort of unit. correct me if I'm wrong @Mikey P, but the hydraulic unit has nothing to do with the plastic face 370.
Correct.

And the green unit is for roof cleaning..

For now

I think there is more to the SS 370 than just the face plate. They said something about plastic frame and new cooling like the belt cooling that have now but improved to cool other components plus new temp control. They have some new type of plastic manufacturing they spoke of from watching the presentation.

They also said all the SS units will be upgraded in 2017 and more new products coming out in 2017 than the last 5 years combined. The Hydraulic unit is made for roof cleaning and some other things. Somehow it conserves water.

Did they do away with air cooled engines on all models? That would be an eye turner if they would. All of the truck mounts in the mid teen $$$$$ have air cooled engines and that would be an eye turner if they were able to find a smaller liquid cooled engine for you guys on the west side of the east coast where it gets ridiculously hot

I did PC on most double wide mobile homes. I would not do the rubber roofs because they were on metal pan roofs. I had a roto spinner no vacuum. I used pool bleach first then rinsed with the spinner. That was 25 yrs a go and I cleaned over 16 K in the same park with 1500 homes. Things were okay until northern tool and Home depot opened and the old guys tried it themselves so I stayed with carpet cleaning. When things were good I would clean the outside of each unit and come back and do the carpets. I.m still at the same park 35 yrs latter but on carpets and furniture cleaning. jz.

I don't really understand this.

Butler looks better and better. You know that the new model will look like a 5 year old model. Prochem changed the peak. But it still looks close to last years model.
How many 2016 units will they sell now? I really don't get it. I did not like the Original sapphire look at first. The Everest was better looking than the 870. But now I see that light blue and think of quality and power. Sapphire built that rep with the 870/570/370. Now you completely change it? Like not even close to the same. Maybe some different gauges and upgrades to the faceplate. But the change is pretty dramatic. What does that do to resale on the "old" style units?
Again I'm not sure why the Butler model isn't more popular. No one ever has "last years model". Maybe the majority of cleaners don't care about resale. Maybe SS was losing sales because of the old look. I don't know.

We were leaning toward but had't decided for sure on a Butler. It looks solid, substantial... but I was holding off because of the hype around the Experience releases by Hydra Master and SS. You are right Justin, that as time has gone by, the Butler just looked better and better. If they had Dealers around the Country they would dominate this market. 10 year warranty and Stainless Steel everything. Cleaning machine for grown ups.

Justin,
The butler model is not popular with some (like me for instance) because:
  1. I do not want to fix it myself (mechanical skills challenged) and though local dealers will service it, you are not likely to receive the same support and it will take longer to fix.
  2. Wasted storage space, due to old design.
As per look, I could not care less. They all look fairly fugly and I ain't entertaining any clients by the machine. Most clients could care less about the look of the machine and I do even less than the clients.

Reliability? Now that's another issue and supposedly that where some excel. Even though the Butler is supposed to be the king of dependability, I've never seen actual numbers that support the claim. And even if it was true, I'd personally still not buy one due to the poor use of space that will really limit my options in the city.

Some of these companies may change their designs too frequently, Butler, on the other hand, would greatly benefit from some sorely needed changes.

You say tomato I say tomàto.

As long as it squirts and sucks.

I haven't had a lot of machines but I doubt many can hold up to the 405 for reliability.

My Amtex Squirted and sucked. It also made rusty water, overheated, got louder, burned exhaust headers in half, and leaked oil in both the engine and water pump.

Do you see my point? Whenever someone says "as long as it squirts and sucks", I get a little touchy, LOL.

I'm glad I can laugh at that bad experience I had in 2013, because that demon of a truck mount literally tried to ruin my business. In fact, I think the man who made those machines has a goal to ruin carpet cleaners lives. Nobody in their right mind with common sense to turn a wrench would engineer a machine like that on purpose.

Ok, my rant is over. Back to Sapphire:
Any updates on upgrades besides the dashboard?

I really thought the new Hydra Master would be something that would get some interest/excitement... but, not really. Maybe at the Experience it's a different story but no one is talking about it on Facebook or here. ProChem did a nice upgrade to one of their machines and SS ruined their 370 and introduced a roof cleaning machine. I won't be cleaning any roofs so ... what.

Some people like the new terminator look to the 370, I mean it is a entry level unit so as much as that floats your boat.

But its got all the same components just a prettier wrap.

Dan Laurie and I were checking out the pro 1200 lots of suck and heat. It was quieter than the competition.

Hydramaster was saying Chevy told them that the CDX drive was born out of Chevy saying they weren't going to make a express van anymore.

But with Ford dropping the eco line series they own that market for government contracts now, and they said nevermind
The express isn't going anywhere soon.

Still the new design in a gas saving vehicle is always a bonus, like Prochem's E idle. 24% fuel savings. That's huge right there.

It fun to listen to all sales points.

Toms wand was hooked up to 4.8 CDS direct drive and they disengaged Barry Acosta's install it pulled so hard.
They have it set to 15hg.

Oh ya and they were using it on a A/T with a 50 foot hose run. Idiots I think my wrists are broken.

2 gal per hour 1000 hours a year 2000 gallons 25% saving 500 gallon saving $2.50 per gallon $1250.00 saving.

Tim Baker said about 23% still it adds up quick.

Over 10 years that could be a $10,000.00 fuel savings
