Screw Type Throttles.....

I've got the screw/push pull throttle on the Genesis. (I think alot of machines use them.....like Powermatics) I can't get it to full throttle lately. It will reach about 2600 rpm, and that's the end of the throttle travel. If I try to open any more, I can feel it give, and it drops down 1000 rpm, and I have to crank it back up to the stop again. Are these throttles adjustable? Everything is tight, no broken brackets. I don't want to tear into this thing if it ain't servicable.

Hey RW...check the other end attachment point...has it loosened up and slipped? Even just a little bit can make a difference.- Jim

The throttle I am installing on my new machine has a type of wing nut behind the throttle knob, you have to adjust how tight it is to maintain tension on the cable. If it is loose the throttle will creep back to idle, if it is to tight it very difficult to pull out.
