I know I held my phone the wrong way.
Zipper SS
Zipper SS
Even if the brush head cleans 5 to 10% better but is twice as slow as the SS. Which one is the better choice.
Id say you have to vacuum very well first. Watch some videos from Mark Saiger's YouTube channel and you can get a good feel for how to use the Zipper in residential. Can I use a zipper most of the time for residential? Converting from drywall to carpet because my shoulder was going out, was a horrible choice lol. I'm dying over here
Yes they were chromed steel and I'm sure eventually would rust. I would think stainless steel and modern glides etc. I would still want one. I made so much money with these machines! Even attached to the low pressure portable these things did a great job! Wish someone would remake them for the modern truck mount. I would buy two right now!Best power wand i ever had but instead of stainless steel, it was chromed and it rusted out.
There is a Chinese company marketing a very similar brush. Go on Seattle craigslist and type in carpet cleaning (carpet cleaner or carpet extractor) and you will see a Chinese portable machine with a swing brush. I think he asks $1450 for the pair. It looks remarkably like the rug doctor tool in your photograph. The one I had was their 12 inch commercial unit which could be used with one hand, much like the original rotovac tool. It was very effective both with portables and tm's. I would like to get another.Yes they were chromed steel and I'm sure eventually would rust. Check out vanmarequipment.com, I think they have what you are looking for. Go to their products page.Yes they were chromed steel and I'm sure eventually would rust. The floor tool sure looks like it... guess I am going to give them a call tomorrow. Thank you!I think they have what you are looking for.
Hmmm... 360XL with a brush head with teflon glides vs a zipper ss...
They will both be at Nashville, so I guess everyone will have to judge for themselves.
Two different tools for two different uses. I don't use my rotary much but I'm glad I have it.
I wore out two new ones in the 70's and 80's.The best tool I ever had was a drag tool made by Rug Doctor called the Vibra Vac. Vibrating brush and weight did an amazing job. Something like this for truck mounts would be a winner...and no swirling pattern. 30 years ago. Notice the clear tube...built like a tank!View attachment 15437

It's like golf.
I can hit the ball with a driver or with a nine iron. Which is the best club for the best chance at the ultimate shot.
When I use a tool, if one isn't getting me the performance I need, I switch it up.
Sometimes I just know which one will work best for the moment.
And, I have all of them with me... And the more skilled you get, the better tool (club) selected right away.
So each tool (Zippers, CRB, Rotovac, wands, Spinners) are important to me to have the chance to provide an ultimate service
Since you started using the Zipper and SS how often does your rotary get used vs how often does the zipper get used?
Saiger" data-source="post: 4443416" class="bbCodeBlock bbCodeBlock--expandable bbCodeBlock--quote js-expandWatch">Most of my Jobs I end up using my regular Zipper Wand. But I have a unique area and unique clientele that is not always super soiled.
We do run into jobs during the week though that we need the Rotary for sure as it is just too loaded with ground in soils that the rotary has the better chance to dig out.
So they do get used maybe not everyday, but are used during the week.
From all the videos I thought you preferred the 10 inch crb Zipper combo on really dirty carpets. Where does the SS get used?
Saiger" data-source="post: 4443420" class="bbCodeBlock bbCodeBlock--expandable bbCodeBlock--quote js-expandWatch">I do love a CRB and Zipper combo a lot. Really, really do.....(love how well it will clean and amazing dry times!)
The SS I have been using on a lot of commercial Grimey Restaurant jobs and Commercial ground in office type work.
Residential, a lot of CRB and regular Zipper....some certain rentals I use the SS. I also really like the SS on urine jobs right now...just seems to have a different kind of flushing power (no pun intended) And some residential...I just have to go to the Rotovac....What ever will get the job done and save me time!
Carpets that have been poorly installed and or old and weak seems...the SS and CRB are my savior or CRB and regular Zipper....what ever I can get it as clean as possible and not have it fall apart on me while cleaning....
I do have to say, I really love having all these tools and options....really no "One Tool" I feel that can just do it all....but yes....we have our personal favorite tools....and would love to use them on every job....but....every jobs are sometimes "Turds" and don't want to cooperate with my wishes....so I go get a bigger or different club![]()
