been checking out the free demo for Service Monster... very interesting.

Has anyone asked the following questions?

1/ Is all my business information only on Service Monsters servers, or is it on my hard drive as well? I was wondering how I would have access to my information in the case of internet failure?

2/ How secure is their site?

As an owner operator, I like the idea of being able to access the incredible amount of information Service Monster keeps on my customers, marketing, scheduling...etc. my biggest concern is; what happens if the site crashes or the internet is down? At least with paper and my own hard drive I have access to what I need. If I'm able to back everything up onto my own hard drive, then it's a winner.

It has never went down in the 5 years I have been on board. There servers are fire proof, flood proof, backed up
regularly and if you want to you can export your data daily, weekly, monthly or what ever works for you.

Take your lap top to Starbucks/library and log in.

Or, If you need your route for that day assuming you entered it the night before call them and have them fax it over.

Your personal computer or business computer is less secure than SMs.

If someone wants your info, they will get it.
