I stumbled across a YouTube video the other day showing a guy replacing the hose that goes from the handle to the head of his Shark vacuum. I ordered the hose off Amazon ( it was surprisingly easy to find) for my model Shark and replaced the hose today. I had to take the head apart twice and reposition the connector to the head because lining it up for a good seal is not quite intuitive. Other than that, the only challenge was getting the correct screws back in the proper place. Laying them out in order is helpful.
This repair was really helpful as this hose is one weak point in the vac. Constant stress on the hose causes it to eventually split which causes a tremendous loss of suction. I’ve thrown away Sharks in the past for this problem opting to just purchase a new one. This particular vacuum is probably around 5 years old. It’s not something that happens often but being able to extend the useful life a Shark vacuum will be helpful to anyone except Damon.

My wife likes the Shark P.L.A. so much, she has turned the Miele into a work vacuum (using it @ the shop for area rugs), and got a new Shark for our house.
As you mentioned, the hose is definitely a weak point.
She would know best, she puts in 4-12 hours a day vacuuming…
