I had a house this morning that had a hardwood hallway...
The whole time I was doing it I was nervous thinking my solution hose was gonna burn off the clearcoat...
Well it didnt but I was concerned for future purposes should I bring along some type of blanket or hose cover...

Ive worried about the same thing. Never had a problem yet but yes have some moving blankets on the truck also some plastic for putting under furniture for some custumers.
Edges of hardwood like on steps is what really scares me.

I agree that furniture blankets is the way to go. It shows respect and the customers DO pick up on that. Sometimes its the little things that make a big different.

we use 10wt and 12wt drop cloth runners.

buy good ones at Sherwin Williams.
They come in 4 and 5 ft widths and lengths from 12 to 24ft
Moving blankets are too short and not the right size IMO.
Try and keep several moving blankets to stay in place on a wooden stair case or long hallway
The 24ft runner is perfect for stair cases and 15ft'rs cover most halls

the drop runners are ideal for hard surface hallways or crossing hard surface rooms like kitchens and such.
Buy one 4ft x 24ft for stair cases and two 4ft x 15ft.
With those three, you'll be covered for just about any situation.

We use the canvas drop cloths for footprints & drips etc..., since our solution line is Parker Parflex heat isn't as much of a concern damaging the wood.
