Time to clean under so called drainage flooring in my "rug plant". Boy dies it stink!🤮

I clean and dry rugs on the floor in the floor space. The tiles seem to help with drying. However I'm considering not laying the tiles this time.

what are your thoughts?

That looks like glue mastic, right?

That's fiber, dirt, sludge, sand, grit, etc...

I'd make a sloped platform if you must use the tiles.. The other thing you could look into is the boat deck matting like Phil Auserehl uses.. It comes in strips of 2'-3'-4' by whatever length you want.. It can roll up easy, making clean up a lot easier.. It's just pricy as fook..

It's all the stuff that Nate said. The floor is epoxy coated.
Thanks, @Nate The Great. I'll investigate the boat decking.

do you have room to keep pallets that can be laid out after cleaning for drying?
Good Idea but space is limited.

Other shops use a lot more water by flowing water under the rug while cleaning to keep the debris flowing. I need to be more conservative with water usage because of the drought.
I guess periodic clean-up is just another form of maintenance. I feel the tiles provide a space for debris to fall and be separated from the rugs, which means cleaner rugs. Roll up tiles would be easier.
