I got a call for a skunk job. The dog got sprayed and then came into the house and got it all over the carpet.
The job was sort of on the outside of my territory, and I don't have any product yet.I could have bought a Bridgepoint product today and driven out there tomorrow morning but They needed it done today and I was busy.So I couldn't help them.
But for the future. I guess there are several products that get pre sprayed on, let dwell for 20 minutes, then the normal carpet cleaning procedure and I'm done, simple enough but....
My questions:
What is the best product to use?
How much should I charge?
Is my truck going to stink forever after that?
If it doesn't work, how do you handle callbacks?
Do you have the customer sign a disclaimer before starting the work?
Are those jobs worth doing?

Dogs also rub against furniture so check it out as well as the walls.
I add on 25 to 50 % depending on odor. dwell time is a factor

We get calls when the skunk has sprayed under steps and in crawl spaces.

This recipe works but has limited shelf life.

It's for concrete and lumber, not soft goods!

Skunk Odor Recipe

1-quart 3% hydrogen Peroxide
¼ cup baking soda
1-teaspoon liquid soap
pour, spray or brush on

Depending upon the circumstances, it may need furniture cleaning, walls cleaned, air handling system deodorized and filters cleaned or replaced. Some skunk jobs also need crawl spaces treated. Be sure to look beyond the carpet for all the possible sources of odor.

For unfinished areas like a crawl space, use Krebaum's (formula given above.). For carpet, upholstery, walls and so forth use an oxygen booster in your prespray or cleaning solution. Use Hydrocide Xtreme after cleaning. Use plenty of ventilation.
