Walt,

You mentioned that "Quality referrals are the weak link" and that you "wouldn't send a customer to somebody I wasn't a hundred percent sure of. Even then I feel obligated to check up on the deal and make sure everything went well."

I understand. That is why SmartGuy has a full rating system, so consumers who use them can rate them AND write a review that can be seen by all others. SmartGuy.com does not want anyone, only those who are willing to provide top-quality service and refer others in their network.

Also the integrated referral system tells you when they received the referral, and the results of the referral - full accountability.

The point is, you can select to only send referrals to smartguy members who have received an extensive amount of good feedback, and of course contact them on the phone or in person first. You can also wait until you build a solid face to face relationships with others prior to recommending them. Either way, the first step is to meet quality professionals that need carpet cleaners or tile care specialists to recommend.

Not meaning an disrespect. But how do you know that the reviews are legit? What stops some one from writing 10 reviews for themselves (or having all there friends do it?)

So, zero accountability? Correct me if I am wrong. I hope I am.

Without revealing how we do it, we are instantly notified of every review that comes in, as well as the details such as who sent it and the specific computer ID that send the review in, etc.

The terms and conditions specifically forbid anyone dpoing their own reviews and as I said, we have ways to verify their accuracy.

thanks for the question Walt...
