Cleaned for a long time customer today. She is usually there when I clean but today her Dad was there. I was to clean the lower level family room and steps going downstairs. As I was cleaning the family room downstairs I heard a very loud clunk, clunk clunk and really thought they guy tripped over my hoses and fell down the stairs. Ran over to see that the Roomba was the one that fell down the steps. I had no idea that they were going to run a Roomba while I was cleaning or I would have closed the door to the lower level (my hoses ran down the steps so I did need to have the door open somewhat)

So I took the Roomba back upstairs and put it on the floor. Lights went from red to white but it did not run. Told the Dad what happened. He didnt think anything of it. Not sure if I will get a call about it.

But is anyone at fault for this in case its damaged and if so, who?

long time customers expect honesty even if they dont know about the incident. remember you are trusted in their home. be proactive give em a call and let them know what happen. offer to replace it. they might just blow it off or want a replacement, who knows. Long timers are more valuable to your bottom line then a roomba.

I would only offer an apology if they question me about it.
I'm not responsible for kids pets or roombas. If they don't put them away and keep them out of my work area I'm not responsible.

This is the sort of thing that I will be talking about in Indianapolis. Long time customers have put you in what is now a very small circle of trust in their homes...in their lives. The value of being in that place is priceless.

Most people don’t answer their doors, but expect a text that a guest has arrived. Few people answer their phones to unknown numbers. Many don’t open emails from unfamiliar sources.

Yet long time customers give you the security code to their homes, and give you a the unsupervised run of their houses.

You can’t lose such a customer to price or imaginative marketing....

...you can only lose them to indifference or a feeling of betrayal and trust.

Debate this all you want.

But in the end, you’ll find this to be the truth of it.

Paul, take charge of the job and quit whining like a bitch. It's just a Roomba. Those stupid things don't do anything but waste our money on a stupid gadget that probably has a Fkn camera on it, selling the data to marketers. Just tell them you did them a favor by letting it fall down the stairs

Too funny,

Ive sort of adopted a cat recently. Im not a cat guy but this little fella was thrown out when owners moved out. I happen to be walking in to my sisters when this thing came at me meow me to death. 35° outside, no home. All i heard was, ‘please please help me!” So i took her in. Well, my little zoomba look-a-like has done me well everyday, if you are a cat owner, you know the shed more than a sheep. Robotic vacuums are a god sent for cat owners.

Long time clients are invaluable. Ive had some 10-15 20 years. Today most are gone for one reason or the other. Some have moved away. Some have shut their business's or sold the business, some have passed away.

I miss every last one of them! Hard to get loyal customers these days…..TOTALLY different species in this so called modern world. Rhey are out there, but becoming harder and harder as this world becomes colder and colder.

I agree with Jim. Loyal clients allow you to roam their homes when they are home and when they are not home. That trust is invaluable to me. Ive had keys to homes, keys to businesses and access to their alarm systems. Never ever have i even thought to compromise that kind of trust. NEVER.

My ex use to make fun of me years ago. I would walk around with a wod of keys on the side of my waist. Keys to several businesses. I looked like Mr Bookman of the show ‘Good Times’ Mr Bookman was a building maintenance guy on that show. He carried a load of keys on his waist.

I carried a load of keys on my waist. Jingles every time id walk by….it was music to my ears of the thought of how much trust and faith my clients had in me. It was a honor to have had that type of trust.

I miss truly miss each of one of them clients.

If you have client or clients that give you that honor of their trust in their home and or their business, cherish it. Go buy them a zoomba and a card of thsnk you. They will pay it back with their loyalty to you and only you. Even when you make mistakes.

Cats are the smartest wild animals that can survive just like foxes, unless their claws were removed from their owners. 35F is hilarious
