It should be in the specs for your pump. Do you have them? The manual should be on the manufacturers website.

depends on the pump and and what PSI it's running at.

At 450psi, my Cat 5CP doesn't use a heck of a lot of HP.
I'd "guess" less than 2HP
When ran at 1500 psi, it needs more ponies

It a GP pump rated at 3.5 GPM.

The hp required at 500 psi according to the manual is 1.4 HP.

Which seems to be minimal load on a gas motor.

That's the actual HP required for the pump.

The blower takes about 90% of the HP required (13 to 14).

Engines should only deliver about 70% of their rated HP continuously.
