Some carpets need more than spray and suck.

Most of the job was just spray and suck, a good portion was suck and post pad with some encap, and this part got scrubbed, RX, dry strokes, and post encap buff. Some dirty carpet and no amount of rinsing is getting this stuff out.

I used two pads both sides and they both looked like this. Just think how much dirt is being left behind with your best effort put forward. I just can't fathom anyone strictly running a cimex etc on this carpet.

Regardless of whether you do that incorrect wand techinque of using one arm and slinging the wand out, for gawd's sake move that handle up closer to the bend at the top. The hunch over will hurt your back.

Use both arms and walk a step into the stroke.

Your back over time will thank you.

Nice work.

I noticed that you have glides on your RX-20. Are they worth the investment?

Thanks, Ross

Daniel you need a clear tube so that you can see when the water runs clear. glue down takes the most effort to get clean because of the lack of air flow. i think the design of the hoss slots will make it a clear winner because the slots will keep the air flow going. time will tell.

Looks really good. I do a few commercial jobs that definitely could use a rotary but I have yet to buy
one. That is in the cards for later this Summer hopefully. What a difference! Thanks for sharing the video.

Yes I prefer without but I just like them on this carpet. I did a few other areas without and even went back over with the wand.

The carpet is NEVER vacuumed. I think it just this particular carpet. I have done it several ways and there is just a ton of dirt ground in with grease and oil.

I have scrubbed and did a real slow pass with the wand. The carpet is just nasty and all I can do is improve it.

The weird part is they really don't want the carpet clean. They just want the spots out. Even though the floor is clean if a spot comes back they feel it's not clean.

I've followed up wanding with the rotovac several times now and convinced the wand alone does a crappy job on dirty carpet. I've post-padded several times on cgd and always remove more soil.

I bought my RX-20 for 750 dollars and it was used like three times. I had a guy offer me 1600 the other day and really the only reason I decided not to sell it was because I had a bad pet job coming up. I like to use it with a good acid pet treatment and flush real good. It does a great job. Prior to that job I had not used it in over a year. I think I'm liking it more and more and so are my customers. I want to test the 360i and Hoss. I bet they are great tools as well.

I have 2 rx 20's and just purchased a 360i. I think you will really like the 360i. Just did a commerical job with it that was hammered and you can see when all the dirt stops flowing through the tube. One downfall with the 360i is that it doesnt have a floating head like the rx20 does so if the floor isn't even the 360i jumps around a bit. The 360i is half the weight and smaller so myself and my techs like it hands down better than the rx20. I would say if you buy it to keep your rx20 around too. Good luck and good video.

How good is the water recovery with the 360?

I'm not really worried about production rates. I don't use a specialty tool unless I am getting PAID.

I have never considered the RX to be heavy in the least bit. The 175 is a different story.

One thing I hate is the long cord. I swear the cord has to be 50' on the RX. I may shorten it to 25'.

Also it may be easier to strap all three together after getting everything set up.

Why would you shorten the cord?

If you do a lot of small grubby areas, a shorter cable is sensible.

Not with my CMX-20, but with my CIMEX, I do a fair number of high rise apartment LIFT LOBBIES.

These are only very small areas where I only need a fifteen foot cable.

A fifty foot cable would be continually in the way, and I will not work a machine with the cable wound on the machine.

But, to each their own, if someone wants to work that way, let 'em.

We all have our own ideas based on what works best for us.

Because I can stretch a 50' cord back four or five rooms. It just gets in the way. 25' would be better and if needed I can keep a 25' extension on the truck.

I had to prescrub a R-E-A-L-L-Y packed down olefin commercial carpet this morning. Came out looking really great with slop-n-gobble and a red pad on my 175.

I thought about this thread and laughed my way to the van as I put my machine up before extracting.

Post padding ... ROFLMAO!

Sorry Dan, you Yanks just don't understand me

What I meant was, I use different size cables.

These include 15, 25, 50 & even an 80 foot cable.

Being on 240 volt does have some advantages. shiteatinggrin

I simply pick the best one for the job at hand.
