Sorona Carpet Fiber And You

Found a pretty interesting discussion on Sorona the similar to Polyester but made with corn fiber.

What kind of feedback have you been getting?

Saw it in the stores a few years ago, I don't think it's selling well. Can't say as I see much yet.

Besides only time will tell what kinda "funky" things it will do in 5-10 years of usage right?

Bill Yeadon posted some information about this awhile ago. If I recall correctly he siad it was a polyester with a percentage of corn in it, but far less than 50% was corn derived.

We've seen lots come through our carpet workroom, with the main selling point being the cotton-like soft hand. Haven't seen any come back in for cleaning yet, but judging from how tight the fiber is packed together, I'd guess the "nylon like" resiliency is just an advertising truth. We'll see.
