I was wondering if you guys that run Specials or Coupons on your web site, internet or other area's.

Do they pay off for you, are you making $$$?

There is no point to running specials or coupons because there is always someone cheaper than you. There is nothing you can discount in carpet cleaning, unless your employees agree to a reduction in salary so you can pass the savings on to your customers. Maybe, your bank will tell you not to make this months payment on your truck mount so you can give out some coupons. Better to let your customers know the difference between you and the discount crowd. How much better your cleaning is, how much healthier their carpet and home is, etc.

We will every Spring.

A coupon discounting services over an certain amount. We usually do $25.00 discount over $250.00 of services booked. EDDM and it does decent intially and we still get stragglers months later before the expiration date.

When I started Act One in 2011, we ran a Groupon for 3hours/$50. It made the phone ring while I got my sea legs, so to speak. That offer expired in November 2011.

Four weeks ago we had a lady try to claim it after scrounging it up on the Stinkernet. "But your Groupon says..."

"Yes, dear, but it also says that it expired 4 1/2 years ago."

Since that first coupon we've avoided training customers to wait for a sale, but I do offer AMAC seniors a discount. Angies List members get 10%, active duty might get 100% if I like them and vets, churches, widows and sometimes others get accidental breaks as needed. Do what makes you feel happy.
