a legit heat gun can blister paint, melt nylon carpet and scorch wool

We use them for various reasons, including spot drying. We have a couple hair dryers too, for guys that aren't exactly masters of paying attention.

As I understand it these put out far larger volumes of air, and from what I read it is not heated. We have used heat guns occasionally in the past but as Larry indicated one needs to be cautious. I was looking at them from the point of quick drying of curtain fabrics & linings where we have had to do a spot clean.
