How many offer this, what is your charge and how often does this service come up? We do it but rarely get calls for it and when we see it in homes most homeowners are not interested in paying for the service.
Just asking because I saw someone posting claims of $450 in 10 minutes for doing a few spots the size of a dime and claiming he does 5-6 a day and is booked months out. Really?

Are you sure the person posting didn't day he made $450 per hour doing spot dying? That would be $75 for 10 minutes work dying a spot.

David, my experience is just like yours. Very little money generated. I use it mostly, not to open the door to a competitor. On the other hand, I never promoted it much.

This same person only does spot dyeing or complete color dyeing.

He does not do carpet cleaning as such.

We also have a specialist in Sydney who does exactly the same, spot or complete dyeing.

They are also booked out well in advance and talking with the two operators when I was down there earlier this month, their figures are similar to what was already stated by David.

I believe the market is there IF you are good enough and IF you chase the right prospects for this type of service.

With those sort of claims is he selling training?

I offer it but selectively. It sits in my group of specialist services of $120/hour excluding tax. Often $180 min but I predominantly work for insurers, retailers and manufacturers.
